Happy Pi Day, Everyone!

Pi day, in addition to being an easy excuse to ditch the diet, is actually an annual event where the Earth's calendar syncs up to the mathematical value of π: 3.14159265.... or, March 14 at 1:59 pm. It's a day of fun, frivolity, frolicking, and delicious fruit filling!

(Actually a better pi day, a once-in-a-millennium one, will come around in 2026 or in 2015 at 9:26, but I can't wait that long for pie!)

Ah, pie! Where would we be without you? Nowhere delicious, I can tell you that! As far as I'm concerned, pie makes the world go around! Why, look! Here's Batman once again using pie to apprehend the criminals!

How many of these "Boy, comic books sure aren't like they was back when you was a kid!" articles do I have to see in my lifetime? Plus they always (and by 'always,' I mean 'EVERY FUCKING TIME!') end with the same thing: "And .. did you see how much you can sell these things for?"

Goddamn.

So I finally got around to reading the latest installment of The Goddamn Batman.

Actually, it was the best issue so far. I think this series has hit a turning point and will go in a different direction for the next half dozen issues. Make more rational sense and tread less over-the-top. Which is a bit of a shame. No reason for me thinking that, I just have a goddamn feeling.

And, since it is still my favorite comic to mess with, I give you this...

Not me and probably not a concern at all, but I'm "on call" as it were - bringing snacks, reading material and such.

'Bout Time!

Yep, it's finally finished! And it looks like everything's working spiffily, too! Sorry about the posting delay, but I feel much, MUCH better about how things are running now. Hey, if I'm gonna re-do everything, I'm gonna do it right! That's the least that my expensive fancy-pants CS degree can do for me!

The downside is that I spent so much time re-configuring the computer itself that I just didn't have the time to revamp the blog like I've been meaning to. It's had pretty much the same layout since I started it, and I really want to get me one of them new-fangled title bars, browser icons, update the links and the like. Maybe for Christmas...

Anyhoo, regular posting should be more or less ongoing at this point! Well, up until the holiday break, anyway. Come to think of it, I'll probably use that week for blog maintainence, since I'm off work and all..

In fact, as much grief as this series (rightly) gets, I can give you one absolute Goddamn reason you should own it - if you read the dialog out loud in your best Mickey Spillane voice, your girlfriend will explode with laughter and beer will shoot out of her nose, and I gotta tell you, instigating something like that is worth $2.99 every 6 months or so! Such is the power of Frank Miller: Wordsmith!
